Second British Player Joins Women’s Soccer Team

HARROGATE, TN – Lincoln Memorial University Women’s Soccer Coach Helio D’Anna has now received confirmation that Sarah Harvey (Daventry, England) will be the second UK player joining the squad.  The signing of Harvey follows the announcement made earlier this month of Leanne Harkness also from England.

A 5’4” forward, Harvey can also play as a center midfielder.  She has attended William Parker high school and played club soccer for the Broughton Rangers Ladies as well as Northampton Town Ladies FC.  In club, she won several awards including Most Improved Player and League Champion as well as Cup Winner. Those accomplishments allowed her to be selected for the Northampton Town Centre of excellence as well as the Northamptonshire county team where she was team captain.  “I am so happy that Sarah will be with us,” – said D’Anna. “She is a savvy player with excellent fundamentals.  She will bring a different flavor to the team and will make us much more complete.”

The daughter of Colin and Kathy Harvey, Sarah will pursue Accounting and Business while at Lincoln Memorial.  She is expected to report with the rest of the squad on August 13th, when the LMU women initiate pre-season training.
