Oak Ridge Women’s Soccer Player To
Come To LMU
HARROGATE,
TN – Lincoln Memorial University Women’s Soccer Coach Helio D’Anna
received word recently that Sarah Chung will be playing with the Lady
Railsplitters starting this Fall.
A 5’8” midfielder,
Chung played her prep career a nearby Oak Ridge High School as well as for
the club team, Anderson Aces. During her senior year this season, Chung
accumulated 3 goals and 1 assist while finishing a stellar high school
career.
Oak Ridge High School
was ranked # 1 in the state of Tennessee with a 23-3-1 record this season.
They were also State Championship Runners-Up and captured the Region II
Title (3rd in 4 years).
The daughter of
Michael and Della Chung, Sarah will start classes at LMU taking general
courses until she decides on a major. “Sarah is the kind of player who will
surprise a lot of people in college,” says Coach D’Anna. “She is a superb
athlete, has very good touch and has not yet scratched her potential. I
know she will have a tremendous college career and I am very excited to have
her join our program at LMU.”
While playing
competitive club soccer this spring, Sarah will also compete in track and
field for Oak Ridge HS. She will report to Lincoln Memorial on August 13th
along with the rest of the team to begin pre-season workouts for what
promises to be another great year.
