Cole Named GSC Defender of the Week

HARROGATE – Lincoln Memorial University men’s soccer goalkeeper Brent Cole (Knoxville, TN) has been named Gulf South Conference Defender of the Week by the conference office in Birmingham, Alabama.

Cole, a sophomore and product of Gibbs High School earned the starting goalkeeper role for the Railsplitters in the preseason and made the fifth start of his collegiate career last Sunday to record four saves and log the first shutout of the season while helping LMU defeat #24 ranked Nova Southeastern University. 

The win, which was LMU’s first regional victory of the season, puts the Railsplitters at 5-0 on the year heading into this weekend’s road match with Oakland City University in Oakland City, Indiana.  The Railsplitters will play their first home match of the year September 30, when they play host to Ouachita Baptist University.
