LINCOLN MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY OFFICE OF SPORTS INFORMATION Sports Release September 11, 2005 LMU Men’s Soccer Wins 90 Minute War with Nova SoutheasternCOLUMBUS, GA – Only one goal was scored on Sunday afternoon in LMU’s NCAA South Region opener against Nova Southeastern University. Playing in Columbus, Georgia for the second time in less than a week, the Railsplitters knocked off the undefeated Knights 1-0 on a goal by freshman Leonardo de Barros (Brasilia, Brazil) in the twentieth minute of the match. The win gives the Railsplitters a 1-0 mark against NCAA South Region opponents and improves their overall record to 5-0 heading into next Saturday’s road match against Oakland City University. The match with Oakland City also marks the sixth consecutive road game of the year for the Railsplitters who will still have to travel to Delta State University and defending Gulf South Conference Tournament Champion University of Montevallo before playing their home-opener on September 30, against Ouachita Baptist University. -LMU- For additional comments please contact, |
