Moojen Named Conference Player of the Week for Second Time
HARROGATE
– Lincoln Memorial University men’s soccer forward Frederico Moojen
has been named Gulf South Conference Player of the Week for the second time
this season. The announcement came Tuesday morning from the conference
office in Birmingham, Alabama.
Moojen a 6’1” sophomore from Balneario, Camburiu, Santa
Catarina, Brazil scored both goals in last Friday’s 2-0 conference win over
Ouachita Baptist University, and then scored three goals and added one
assist in the Railsplitters 5-0 drubbing of conference foe Christian
Brothers University on Sunday.
Currently, the second-year starter for the
Railsplitters is leading the conference in points (32), points per match
(3.20), goals (14), and goals per match (1.40). In addition, Moojen is also
tied for fifth in the GSC in assists (4), and is seventh in assists per
match (0.40).
The Lincoln
Memorial men are ranked 17th nationally with an overall record of
9-1-0 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll,
released on Tuesday October 4. The Railsplitters are also listed as the
South Region’s #3 team heading into this Friday’s home match against the
University of West Florida which gets underway at 12:30 p.m.
