LMU Soccer Adds Player From Serbia &
Montenegro
HARROGATE,
TN – Men’s Soccer Coach Helio D’Anna announced today that Svetozar
Gladic from Serbia and Montenegro will begin his career at Lincoln
Memorial University this Fall.
A 6’0 midfielder,
Gladic has played at the highest level in his home country, including the
following clubs: FK Vojvodina, FK Ajax, FK Index, and FK Sajkas. While
competing in club, Gladic accumulated many honors, including best player of
junior league and best league striker with 21 goals.
The son of Rajko and
Nadezda Gladic, Svetozar will be receiving an academic scholarship while
pursuing an undeclared major. “Svetozar is truly an impact player and an
exciting signee,” stated Coach D’Anna. “Svetozar is fast and quick, as well
as physically strong player. More importantly, his skills are among the
highest level and he will open a lot of eyes when he starts pre-season.”
Gladic will be the
second player hailing from Serbia & Montenegro, following in the footsteps
of former Railsplitter Marko Skuletic. Skuletic was a standout defender and
a team captain while with the Railsplitters. He graduated with honors this
past fall.
This is shaping up as
one of the best LMU soccer teams ever assembled and it all starts on August
25th when the Railsplitters clash with Salem International University.
