Delaney & Whitaker Earn All-SAC Honors

HARROGATE, TN – Lincoln Memorial University men’s basketball forward Terry Delaney (Murfreesboro, TN) and guard Ryan Whitaker (Pineville, KY) were recently named to the All-South Atlantic Conference Men’s Basketball Second Team and All-Freshman Team.

Delaney, a 6’5” junior, led the Railsplitters in scoring and rebounding this season with 17.4 points and eight rebounds per game.  The first-year Railsplitter also started in 25 of 27 games this season for Lincoln Memorial University.

Whitaker, a freshman and product of nearby Bell County High School, earned South Atlantic Conference All-Freshman Team honors while 11.1 points per game this season while playing the point guard, shooting guard and small forward positions.

Although the Railsplitters finished with a disappointing 8-20 record, both will return next year and will be looked at as leaders in Lincoln Memorial University’s effort to revitalize the men’s basketball program.  The University is currently conducting a search for a new head men’s basketball coach to replace retiring coach Hugh Watson.
