Only a week after being named First Team All-South Atlantic Conference, men’s tennis freshman Hannes Ganss (Erlangen, Germany) has been named Male Newcomer of the Year at Lincoln Memorial University at the school's annual Athletics Banquet held Tuesday night on the LMU campus.

No. 3 Newberry captured two of the three doubles points and Felipe Sobrinho (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) won in straight sets to clinch the winning point in the Indians' 5-3 win over No. 7 Lincoln Memorial.

The Lincoln Memorial University men’s and women’s tennis teams will travel to Rock Hill, South Carolina on Friday to compete in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament Men’s and Women’s Tennis Semifinals.

LMU Upsets Second-Seeded Mars Hill In SAC Tournment
The seventh seeded Lincoln Memorial University men’s tennis team upset second seed Mars Hill 5-3 in the opening round of the 2008 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament on Tuesday. LMU, who improved to 5-10 on the season, advances to the semifinal round to face No. 3 Newberry College in Rock Hill on Friday. Newberry defeated No. 6 Catawba College earlier today, 5-0.  MHC ends their 2008 campaign with a 13-6 overall record.

The Lincoln Memorial University men’s and women’s tennis teams both picked up key South Atlantic Conference victories on Monday afternoon when the men knocked off Lenoir-Rhyne College 9-0 and the women defeated the Bears 7-2.

The Lincoln Memorial University men’s tennis team fell to 1-6 overall on Wednesday afternoon, as the Railsplitters traveled to Bristol, Tennessee and lost to the Tornado of King College 5-4.

Catawba Men's Tennis Takes 5-4 Win Over LMU
Catawba rallied for four singles wins to defeat visiting Lincoln Memorial 5-4 in South Atlantic Conference men’s tennis action on Sunday at the Johnson Tennis Center. The win improves the Catawba Indians to 7-5 overall and 1-0 in the SAC. The Railsplitters fall to 1-5 and 0-3.

Bulldogs Top LMU 6-2
The Wingate University men’s tennis team beat the Railsplitters of Lincoln memorial 6-2 Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs improve to 6-5 overall, and 2-0 in the SAC. LMU falls to 1-4 overall and 0-3 in the conference.

Lewallen To Step Down As LMU Tennis Coach
Less than a month into the 2008 spring tennis schedule, Lincoln Memorial University Head Coach Lisa-Marie Lewallen officially announced Thursday morning that she would step down upon completion of this year’s schedule.

Railsplitters Beat Georgetown For First Win Of The Year
After enduring 22 consecutive losses dating back to April 22, 2006, the Lincoln Memorial University men’s tennis team finally broke the losing streak Wednesday afternoon when it defeated the Bulldogs of Georgetown College 6-3 at home on the Annan Courts.

The Lions' men's tennis team defeated Lincoln Memorial University in the SAC opener, 8-1. MHC improved to 5-1 overall and 1-0 in the SAC. LMU fell to 0-2 on the season and 0-1 in the league.

Railsplitters Fall In Season Opener
The Lincoln Memorial University men’s tennis team dropped its season opener on Monday afternoon at home on the Annan Courts.  The Railsplitters fell to the Bulldogs of Union College 2-7, winning in the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles matches.

LMU Men’s Tennis Signs Bates
The Lincoln Memorial University men’s tennis program signed its first recruit for the 2007-08 season recently.  Andrew Bates, a 5’6” incoming freshman from Larry A. Ryle High School in Union, Kentucky decided to play his collegiate tennis career with the Railsplitters.

LMU’s Burkon Is The Recipient Of The B. Frank Turner Award
At Monday’s night’s annual athletics banquet, Lincoln Memorial University men’s tennis senior Lukas Burkon (Letovice, Czech Republic) was awarded the coveted B. Frank Turner Award.  The award is given each year to a male and female athlete that best exemplify athletic ability, academic excellence and good citizenship.
