Why you should be interested in LMU

Apply to Lincoln Memorial University

Your junior year in high school is a very busy time. While you are juggling academics, athletics, a part-time job, and a social life you are also taking a serious look at colleges and universities for after graduation. It can be tough, but you’ve got what it takes to succeed, and LMU has some tips to help.

Choosing the right school is very important. You don’t want to go just anywhere. You want a school that fits you; one that complements you. There are lots of factors to consider and each of them important:

One such factor is your career choice. This is very important. What drives you? What do you want to do after you graduate college? When choosing a school you want to make sure that they offer a degree program that lies in the field you want to enter.

Here at LMU we have more that 25 majors and post-graduate prep programs that will have you ready to enter law school, medical school, engineering and many other professional fields

Another choice is if you want to go to a public or private university. Many students feel that a private school, such as Lincoln Memorial University is outside of their financial range. While it is true that the costs to attend a private university are higher, you’ll find that LMU is very affordable. We work with our students to get the best financial-aid package for them.

Around 92% of the students that choose to attend Lincoln Memorial University for their undergraduate degree receive some type of financial assistance from either institutional aid or federal aid. In fact, many students find that their out-of-pocket costs are less at LMU than if they had attended a state school.

The size of the institution that you choose is also a very important factor to consider. In larger universities, it’s easy to become lost in the hustle and bustle of it all. With little personal attention you may feel like no one at the university is on your side.

Lincoln Memorial University strives to make that a non-issue. Almost immediately upon arriving at campus, you’ll start to notice that LMU has a personal stake in you. We want you to succeed. You will develop a close-working relationship with faculty and staff, and with an average class size of 25 and a 16:1 student to teacher ratio you will know the professors in your field well, after only a short time.

While very important, there is more to do at LMU than just your school work.

Lincoln Memorial University boasts an absolutely beautiful campus. The campus is around 1000 acres, and there are hills and trees, and beautiful landscapes as far as the eye can see. If you like hiking, biking, camping, or exploring, then you have to see our trails, some of which connect directly to the Cumberland Gap National Park. If you enjoy being outdoors, then you should join the high adventure club, which often offers excursions to white water rafting, rock climbing, skiing, and many other activities.

In the area there is also a movie theater, a shopping mall, and a bowling area, as well as a host of restaurants and small shops.

Like I said, there is a lot of information to consider when choosing the university that is right for you, and we’ve only mentioned a very important few. If LMU sounds like the place you want to be then you should schedule a tour and come visit us.
