  • We will be taking a pep van to Clinch to support the boys basketball team in the first round of the district tournament. The cost to enter the game will be $7.00 and you will need money for food. We will leave school at 4:30 (when the team leaves) and returning at approximately 9:30 to the school. We will stop at McDonald's in Tazewell with the team on the way to the game. Sign-ups will begin Tuesday. You will need a signed field trip form submitted by lunch on Friday to go. The van will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • All current and former senior athletes will practice for senior night tonight during 3rd block. Also, Luke Thompson and Dillon Hinojos will be needed to assist in practice.
  • The middle school Valentine Party is on Friday, February 17th from 7pm until 10pm. We will have music, Wii games, and plenty of food and drinks. The dress is casual and the party is free!
  • Jr. Beta members and officers will have their pictures taken on Tuesday, February 14 during flex block.
  • Students, the seniors have decided that we should have a BLACK OUT to show our support for seniors on Senior Night.
  • Any junior or senior who's interested in joining the Academy's Founder's Day team should meet with Ms. Mars Monday during flex block in the media center after reporting to their flex block teacher's room first. Participants will be out of class next Thursday afternoon to play the games which include things like 8 legged race and an egg in a spoon race.
  • NHS will have a meeting Today, February 10th during Flex Block. Please see Mrs. Rhodes for details.
  • There will be no school on Monday, February 13th, which will be a Teacher in-service day. However, students who are taking LMU classes need to remember that LMU classes will be in session on Monday.
  • Reminder- $5-$10 Senior Beta money or Hunger ministries is due by this Thursday; tickets will be distributed the same day. See Courtney Bailey, Kenzie Day or Mrs. HK if you have any questions.
  • For only $1.00 you can send a candy gram to your friends and teachers. Candy grams will be on sale all of this week during flex block, 2:20-2:40, and will be delivered on Valentine's Day.
  • Senior night is Monday, February 13 and we want to have the biggest turnout of the season to send our seniors out in style. Admission for everyone is free that evening, so invite any friends or family who may be interested in JFWA and/or the games. We host Maryville Christian, and both of our teams will need support of everyone to avenge early season losses. We will have cake and punch for all JFWA supporters. We'll also do a 50/50 drawing: for every $1 donation, you get a ticket. At the halftime of the boys game, we'll draw a number and the winner will split the pot with JFWA athletics. We also want everyone to wear the same color so we can do a white, blue, or black out but you students get to decide; beginning Monday, we'll start taking votes and the winning color will be our theme for the evening.
  • Yearbook orders can still be placed with Mrs. HK. The charge is now $50 for those who have not turned in a deposit. Please make checks payable to JFWA.
  • There is a donation box for Leadership Claiborne participants located on the front office counter. Our participants are raising funds to purchase a freezer for Hunger Ministries in Claiborne County. This is part of a competition among the Academy, Cumberland Gap High School, and Claiborne County High School. Please support our Leadership Claiborne team!
