The J. Frank White Academy has been relocated to its new home in the completely renovated Farr-Chinnock Hall located on the quadrangle of Lincoln Memorial University. These newly renovated facilities boast new science labs as well as classroom technology that exceed classrooms of other local and regional schools. Every classroom is “smart” allowing faculty members the opportunity to utilize visual aids, websites, web quests, databases, and interactive technology.
The Academy also has distance learning capabilities that allow lectures from other facilities to be streamed into our classrooms while enabling student to speak and communicate with the lecturers in their distant locations. The new JFWA has Wi-Fi capabilities throughout the building for students to utilize their Academy issued iPads during class, as well as a media center and two other computer lab facilities.
JFWA facilities have strict access control and are all monitored by surveillance cameras that are viewed by the Academy administration as well as the Lincoln Memorial University Police and Security Team.
The Academy utilizes Mary Mars Gymnasium for its physical education courses and athletics needs. Mars gym has a certified CrossFit gym in Mars Weight Room and is connected to the university pool. Mars gym is also adjacent to Democrat Hollow where the LMU High Adventure Ropes Course is located as well as an outdoor sheltered and picnic area / gathering facility.
Academy students frequently access LMU facilities, including science labs, high-tech media center and library, tutoring lab, tennis courts, cafeteria, swimming pool and weight rooms, baseball field, Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum and the landmark 5,000 seat Tex Turner Arena.
