LMU offeres one of the nation's only bachelor's degree
programs in wildlife and fisheries management This
highly unique program offers you the opportunity to
prepare for an exciting career, not only in wildlife and
fisheries management, but in an array of other fields
focusing on natural resource conservation.

Bachelor of Science in Wildlife and Fisheries Management
(B.S.)Special Features
Students may be able to assist professors with current
and special research projects available through the
Cumberland Mountain Research Center on campus.
Additional field experiences are provided through class
participation in relation to work agreements with
various government and private organizations.

Tennessee Aquarium, Cave Research Foundation of
Cumberland Gap, Tennessee River Gorge Trust and a
variety of state and federal parks.

Alumni Success
Graduates of this program are currently employed in
various careers. Several are currently wildlife
officers in Tennessee and Kentucky, wildlife area
manager and supervisors in Tennessee (TWRA). Some
have gone on to teach in high schools following receipt
of appropriate credentials. We have a veterinarian
practicing and a lawyer serving as a deputy district
attorney. Some have gone on to farm, raising both
livestock and promoting wild game on their properties.
At least one past graduate operates an environmental
consulting firm specializing in hazardous waste
management. The opportunities available to
graduates are as varied as the interests of the student.
