LMU's cornerstone belief is service to humanity, and few professions embody this belief like nursing. Nurses help people attain and regain wellness. And they work with individuals, families, and community groups, helping them adapt to changes--in their needs, their roles, and their relationships--brought on by changes in health.

At LMU, you'll receive the training and education you'll need to become a qualified nurse professional capable of succeeding in the 21st century health care environment. You'll also develop the high moral and ethical standards, as well as a sense of personal responsibility, that are vital to nursing.

Degrees Offered

Associate of Science in Nursing (A.S.N.)
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-B.S.N.)
Master of Science in Nursing  (M.S.N.) Family Nurse Practitioner concentration

Special Features

All nursing professors hold a Master's of Science in Nursing from various institutions of higher education. Several faculty hold terminal degrees in nursing and education.

LMU's nursing faculty includes specialists in medical-surgical nursing, pediatric nursing, psychiatric nursing, and maternal-child nursing.

In one recent graduating class, 92% of LMU's nursing students passed their NCLEX-RN examination.

LMU's A.S.N. program is approved by both the Kentucky and Tennessee Boards of Nursing; the RN-B.S.N. program is approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing. Both programs are accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).

We provide many clinical opportunities for students to exercise informed judgments. Nursing students learn to communicate clearly and effectively in a variety of settings.
