Course Information
The undergraduate degree program offers several degree options, each with a particular
set of course requirements. These options are:
A major in business administration
This major leads to the bachelor of business administration (B.B.A.) degree and
requires the completion of the B.B.A. core courses and one B.B.A. concentration area. The concentrations offered are:
- Accounting
- Computer Information Systems
- Economics
- Financial Economics
- General Business
- Management
- Marketing
A major in business
Providing a solid foundation of knowledge and skills in general business practices, the business
major leads to a bachelor of arts (B.A.) degree. While open to all students, this major is designed
primarily as a second major for students pursuing another primary field of interest. It also
provides an alternative to the B.B.A. for the student who discovers an interest in business late
in the undergraduate career.

A major in management and leadership studies
Designed for adults, age 23 and over, who have 60 semester hours of college credit
and prior learning experiences, LMU's Management and Leadership Studies Program (MLP)
leads to a bachelor of science (B.S.) degree.

An associate degree in business administration
An associate degree in business administration (A.B.A.) is available for those not wishing to
complete a baccalaureate degree. Students who complete their associate degree at LMU and
then choose to pursue a baccalaureate degree must complete all Baccalaureate Core Curriculum
requirements for that higher degree.

Minor programs are available in Computer Information Systems, Economics, General Business,

Clubs & Organizations
Students studying business and accounting may join the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program,
which offers free tax help to low- to moderate-income people in the community who cannot prepare their
own tax returns.
Phi Beta Lambda, the business honor society, accepts students preparing for careers in business and
related fields. The association prepares students for employment by promoting competent,
aggressive business leadership, increasing understanding of American free enterprise, establishing
career goals, encouraging scholarships, promoting efficient money management, and developing
character and self confidence.
Scholarships & Financial Aid
LMU business majors who exhibit academic and leadership potential are eligible for a number of
scholarships, including the Croushorn Business Scholarship, the Dr. Warner S. and Ruth McIntosh
Business Scholarship, and the Oscar Robertson Memorial Rotary Scholarship.
