The Life Science Initial Teacher Licensure major is perfect for the science minded graduate who wants to share their knowledge with up-and-coming future scientists. 

The need for exceptionally prepared STEM teachers is widely recognized. Workforce placement of licensed teachers in the STEM disciplines even brings out competitiveness among schools; signing bonuses are common.  Students will participate in a variety of graduate level science courses while gaining the teaching knowledge they need for success through the Carter and Moyers School of Education. 

  • Our Master’s program consists of a minimum of 38 graduate hours of study and leads to an Initial Teacher Licensure (ITL).
  • Classes meet on nights and weekends at LMU’s Cedar Bluff campus in Knoxville, TN accommodate the schedule of a working adult.
  • Courses will include a variety of graduate courses in the School of Mathematics & Sciences while gaining the competencies needed for teaching success through LMU’s Carter and Moyers School of Education.
