The LMU School of Business offers a “Business of Medicine” education certificate program to healthcare professionals.  Your medical education and training prepared you to provide healthcare services, but may not have equipped you to manage the increasing number of business decisions you make every day or the leadership skills to be a leader in your practice or medical program.

Our certificate program provides a carefully selected array of business related educational classes that will assist you in making business decisions in an ever changing and increasingly complex healthcare environment.   The Certificate Program consists of eight courses concentrating on information relevant to practicing physicians.  The courses will be directed by LMU graduate business faculty, where the focus is on providing a value added educational experience.

Because we understand your time constraints, the program is offered only in an online format.  There are no evening or weekend attendance requirements.  In addition, we have intentionally scheduled only one class per term.  To earn the certificate, you need to select four of the eight courses, which will be offered during LMU’s regular fall, spring, and summer schedule

The program is ideal for physicians, dentists, physician assistants, pharmacists, and nurses who have minimal formal business training

Professionals who wish to pursue an MBA degree can apply these certificate classes to the LMU Professional MBA’s elective coursework requirements (Individuals must meet the LMU Professional MBA entry requirements).

Individuals wishing to earn the LMU Business of Medicine Education Certificate are required to submit a completed LMU Certificate Application and application fee.  Tuition is on a class by class basis, and be based on the credit hour tuition rate in the LMU Professional MBA Program.
