Mrs. Evelyn G. Smith - Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs


Mrs. Evelyn Smith has been employed at LMU since August 1998. She has held several positions including Director of Foundation Research, Assistant Professor of Computer Information Systems; Interim Chair of the Department of Business, and Dean of Academic Services. She was appointed Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs (AVPAA) in 2007.  As AVPAA, Mrs. Smith has responsibility for day-to-day operations of the Office of Academic Affairs and oversight of the Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum; Carnegie-Vincent Library; Extended Site Services; Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence; International Programs; and Registrar’s Office. Mrs. Smith’s prior work experience includes 12 years at IBM in Boca Raton, Florida; and 12 years at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Maryland.

Mrs. Smith earned a Bachelor of Science (1994) and Master of Science (2002) in Computer Science from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and is currently in the dissertation phase of the Doctor of Education program at East Tennessee State University.
