Dr. Vina Faulkner, Dean, School of Allied Health Sciences
Dr. Vina Faulkner has been a faculty member at LMU since 2001. She was appointed Dean of the School of Allied Health Sciences in 2012 and serves as associate professor of veterinary medicine in the Veterinary Health Science and Technology department.
Originally from Wisconsin, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Mount Senario College and Master of Science in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Comparative and Experimental Medicine is from the University of Tennessee-College of Veterinary Medicine in Knoxville. While there, she managed the Clinical Virology Diagnostic service laboratory for the veterinary teaching hospital.
Dr. Faulkner has served as President (2008) and Vice President (2002) of the Southeastern Society of Parasitologists and is a member of the American Society of Parasitologists. Her research interests include epidemiology of zoonotic diseases, including Toxoplasma gondii, and parasite surveys in wildlife.
