Dr. Randall K. Evans - Dean, College of Veterinary Medicine
Dr. Evans has been a part of the LMU family since 1989 and is presently serving as professor of veterinary medicine. In 2011, Dr. Evans was chosen as the founding dean of the emerging College of Veterinary Medicine after serving as the founding dean of the School of Allied Health for four years. In addition, he was director of the Veterinary Technology Program for 19 years.
Dr. Evans completed his pre-veterinary medicine requirements at the University of Kentucky while majoring in animal science. He is a graduate of the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and is a federally accredited veterinarian in Tennessee and Kentucky. After graduation Dr. Evans completed an internship at the Fitzpatrick Veterinary Clinic in Nashville before returning to work at the Harrogate Hospital for Animals.
Dr. Evans received the Houston Award for Excellence in teaching in 2000. He is licensed to practice in Tennessee and Kentucky with a special interest in small animal medicine and surgery. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association, the Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Laboratory Animal Science and the Association of Veterinary Technician Educators. Dr. Evans enjoys working in the children’s ministry at his local church and serves on the advisory council of a local hospital.
