Served in university advancement at LMU for 25 years. Prior to being named vice president 22 years ago, she served as director of public relations and director of alumni services. As vice president for university advancement, Mrs. Whitt is responsible for the efficient, equitable and effective management of the University's total fund raising efforts. Under her direction, LMU has conducted a number of successful capital campaigns including the "Nineties Now Campaign," "Second Century Challenge Campaign" and the "Campaign for Lincoln." Altogether, the campaigns garnered $57.8 million.
Member of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education; the Tennessee Independent Colleges and Universities Association (TICUA); served as a vocalist for the Washington, D.C. Lincoln Commemorative Birthday Celebration on February 12 in 2004, 2005, 2012 and 2013; and is a volunteer for the Remote Area Medical Clinic held at Lincoln Memorial University. Mrs. Whitt is a former Red Cross Disaster Relief volunteer; former chair of the Wilderness Road Girl Scout Fundraising Council; former board member of the Middlesboro Salvation Army; and was given the 2012 Dean’s Award from the Caylor School of Nursing.
