The PA program at LMU-DCOM will offer graduate level professional education for students who
desire to become Physician Assistants. The program will
provide the academic and clinical training needed to
practice as a competent, reliable extender of the
physician. The program will be a full-time, 27-month
curriculum that provides students the opportunity to
earn a Master of Medical Science degree and certificate
of completion to meet the eligibility requirements for
the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination
(PANCE). Application deadline
is January 15, 2009. The program will start on June 1,
2009.
PROGRAM ACCREDITATION
The LMU-DCOM Physician Assistant
Program is applying for provisional accreditation from
the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the
Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA). Accreditation is
anticipated to be granted in March, 2009. Provisional
accreditation is required prior to starting the program
in order for graduates to be able to sit for the
national certification examination for physician
assistants, a credential required for state licensure.
Should the program not receive provisional
accreditation, all deposits will be returned to
candidates. Information on accreditation is available at

UNIVERSITY ACCREDITATION STATEMENT
Lincoln Memorial University is
accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern
Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane,
Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097; Phone 404.679.4501) to
award associate, bachelor's, master's, educational
specialist and doctoral degrees.
CREDENTIALS AWARDED
Upon successful completion of the PA
program, students will be awarded a Master of Medical
Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies (MMS) from
LMU-DCOM and a Certificate of Completion. The graduate
is then eligible to sit for the Physician Assistant
National Certifying Examination (PANCE). This
examination is administered through the National
Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
