Dean’s Message

Abraham Lincoln once stated “I am a success today because I had a friend who believed in me.”  The LMU College of Veterinary and Comparative Medicine (CVCM) is committed to fulfilling the University’s mission of serving the health and wellness needs of animals and people in the Appalachian region and beyond by investing in the success of our students.  As LMU establishes a high quality, community-based (distributed) veterinary medical education for students; three components are needed for our vision to become a reality:

  • The LMU-CVCM has attracted an excellent faculty and staff who ensure the quality and stability of the college’s programs.

  • We seek to recruit talented enthusiastic students, who will serve society in diverse ways through public service and leadership.

  • As Dean, I want to serve as a catalyst to enhance understanding and appreciation of our veterinary curriculum that prepares graduates for real-world veterinary medicine with an emphasis on the One Health concept.

It is the collective effort of our entire veterinary family that moves the CVCM forward.  The LMU-CVCM is determined to make this educational opportunity a success story for each of our graduate veterinarians.
