Claiborne’s DeBusk To Play For Lincoln Memorial
Lincoln Memorial University women’s Head Basketball Coach Larry Just announced this week the signing of another player for the 2007-08 season.  Bonnie DeBusk, a 5’10” product of nearby Claiborne High School will play next season for the Lady Railsplitters.

Two Pike Central Players Sign With LMU
When college coaches begin searching for the missing pieces to next season’s puzzle, it’s extremely rare to find two of those pieces in the same graduating class from the same place.  Nonetheless, that was the case when Lincoln Memorial University decided to sign Brittany Craney and Megan Davis of Petersburg, Indiana.

Just - The Man For The Job
When LMU women’s basketball coach Roger Vannoy announced plans for retirement from coaching in late January, University officials knew it would take someone with a proven background in college basketball to step in and continue the program’s success.  Over the past 25 years, Vannoy’s accomplishments include an NCAA Division II National Tournament appearance, five NAIA District 24 championships, seven conference championships and an overall record of 463 wins and 246 losses.

Vannoy Era Comes To An End With Loss At Wingate
Wednesday’s night’s 91-54 loss to Wingate University in the  Quarterfinals of the Women’s South Atlantic Conference Tournament not only ended the Lady Railsplitter basketball team’s season at 14-15, it also brought to an end a rein of coaching that is unequaled in Lincoln Memorial University athletics history.

Lady Railsplitters Put Together Best Forty Minutes Of The Year To Knock Off Lenoir-Rhyne On The Road
The Lady Railsplitters seemed to do no wrong in Monday night’s 80-66 South Atlantic Conference road win over Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, North Carolina.  “It was probably our best forty consecutive minutes of the year,” said LMU Head Coach Roger Vannoy. (Box score)

Mars Hill Completes Season Sweep Of Lady Railsplitters
Mars Hill defeated Lincoln Memorial University 81-67 on the road Saturday night, 81-67 in SAC women's basketball action. All five of the Lions' starters recorded double-figures in scoring in the win. The Lions improved to 14-9 overall and 7-5 in the SAC while the Railsplitters fell to 11-12 on the season and 3-12 in league action. (Box score)

The Wingate University women’s basketball team defeated Lincoln Memorial University 78-50 in a South Atlantic Conference game in Cuddy Arena on the Wingate campus Wednesday. Wingate improves to 15-5 overall and 7-2 in the SAC. (Box score)

 

Lady Railsplitters Upset Third-Ranked Lee
With only eight games remaining in his collegiate coaching career, on Saturday evening Roger Vannoy and his Lady Railsplitters captured one the Lincoln Memorial University women’s basketball program’s biggest wins when they defeated NAIA third-ranked Lee University 70-63 to improve to 10-9 on the year, while dropping the Lady Flames record to 18-3 overall. Nidiffer also retiring as athletics director in June

Lincoln Memorial University’s Women’s Basketball Coach Roger Vannoy announced Friday that he will retire from coaching at the end of the 2006-07 season. After the season, Vannoy will remain at the University as associate athletics director and NCAA compliance officer.

Richards Named SAC Women's Basketball POW
Lincoln Memorial University’s Madeline Richards has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 10.  It was announced today by the league office.  Richards, a native of Floyds Knobs, Ind., helped the Railsplitters to a pair of wins last week and also became a member of LMU’s 1,000-point club.

LMU Basketball Teams Set to Tip-off 2005-06 Basketball Season
The Lincoln Memorial University men’s and women’s basketball teams both play their season-openers tonight on the road.  The LMU men travel to Mars Hill, North Carolina where they will take on the Mountain Lions of Mars Hill College.  The Lady Railsplitters travel to Banner Elk, North Carolina for a date with Lees McRae College.
