The Wingate University Bulldogs beat the Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters 3-1
(30-24, 27-30, 30-24, 30-27) Saturday night in South Atlantic Conference
volleyball action. With the win, Wingate improves to 30-1 overall, and a perfect
14-0 in the South Atlantic Conference. The Railsplitters fall to 19-14 overall,
and 5-8 in the conference.

Takes Four-Game Win Over Lincoln Memorial
Catawba dropped the opening game, but rallied back to take a four-game win over
visiting Lincoln Memorial in South Atlantic Conference volleyball action on
Friday night at Goodman Gym. The Catawba Indians won by the scores of 25-30,
30-20, 30-14 and 30-27 to improve to 22-6 overall and 7-5 in the SAC. The Lady
Railsplitters fall to 19-11 and 5-5.

Although the Lady Railsplitters played the Bulldogs close throughout much of
Saturday afternoon’s match, Wingate remained unbeaten at 7-0 in conference play

Over Lincoln Memorial
The Tusculum College volleyball team came in to the Mary E. Mars Gymnasium
Wednesday night and reeled off a 3-0 victory over the Lady Railsplitters to drop
Lincoln Memorial into a tie for third place in the South Atlantic Conference
race at 3-3. The Pioneers, who are 6-1 in league play, are second only in the
conference to the Lady Railsplitters' next opponent, Wingate University, who is
5-0.

The weekend has been
bitter-sweet for the Lincoln Memorial University volleyball team which traveled
to Hickory, North Carolina on Friday and lost a 3-1 decision to Lenoir-Rhyne
College before moving over to Brevard, North Carolina on Saturday and coming
back from two games down to defeat Brevard College 3-2.

Railsplitter Volleyball Begins Preparation To Sail Into The South Atlantic
The Lincoln Memorial University volleyball team began preseason practice Friday
morning with aspirations of a South Atlantic Conference title in mind. Although
LMU officially joined the SAC last season, several sports, including volleyball
were not eligible to compete for a conference title until fall and spring of
2007 due to scholarship restrictions.

Memorial University earlier this summer.

For Battle In The SAC
Last July, Lincoln Memorial University officially became the ninth member of the
South Atlantic Conference. Although several of the University’s athletic teams
were eligible to compete for a conference championship in their respective
sports, volleyball was one of the sports that was not due to scholarship
compliance restrictions.
