LMU Cheerleading Requirements

CHEERLEADER RULES & GUIDELINES

  • While cheering for Lincoln Memorial University, you must maintain a C (2.0) Grade Point Average or better in at least 12 hours of regular coursework to be eligible for the squad. You must also be passing your current 12 hours of regular coursework. This includes developmental courses. Midterm grades and semester grades will be examined by the sponsor to determine whether you will be eligible for the squad.

  • You will be given some items from the cheerleading program, such as your uniform, that must be returned to the cheerleading program at the end of the season. Whatever you lose or ruin will be charged to your LMU account.

  • Please meet with the cheerleading captains to establish a time to meet the cheerleaders.

  • Show good sportsmanship at all times. No profanity or aggressive behavior at any cheerleading activities will be tolerated. This also means for any time on campus or outside of cheerleading activities when you represent the squad (i.e. if you're wearing a uniform/LMU apparel or are out as as a cheerleading group).

  • If you miss two games, you may be considered for termination from the squad. If you miss three games, you are terminated from the squad.

  • If you are late for any practice or game, the coach will decide the necessary discipline.

  • You must notify the coach you will be late for a practice or game.  You must have a legitimate reason.

  • All girls and guys must keep a clean cut appearance while serving on the squad.

  • All jewelry and watches should be removed for all practices and games. Tattoos that are visible to the crowd must have flesh colored tape over them.  Belly button rings must be taped over.

  • When any of these rules are broken, you will be considered for disciplinary action
