RUSTY PEACE

The Sports Information Director for Lincoln Memorial University since 1998, Rusty is no stranger to LMU athletics. In his assigned duties, Peace oversees the publicity, statistical compilation and promotion of all NCAA Division II sports at Lincoln Memorial University.

Before taking over as sports information director more than two years ago, Peace served as general manager of Lincoln Memorial’s two radio and two television stations for eight years. He will enter his 12th season this fall as voice of the Railsplitter and Lady Railsplitter Sports Networks.

Peace, a native of Middlesboro, Kentucky, earned his B.S. in communications from Lincoln Memorial University in the Spring of 1989 and is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He resides in Harrogate.

 

ASSISTANT SPORTS INFORMATION DIRECTOR

BILL PORTER

Bill has been the Assistant Sports Information Director since August of 2000. Prior to that he spent several years as a volunteer, mainly doing stats and keeping the records. For his work, which included researching the 75 year game-by-game results for the men’s and women’s basketball programs, he was named the LMU Martin Peters Young Alumnus of the Year at the 1999 Homecoming Alumni Banquet.

Before becoming the Sports Information Assistant, Bill was a Graduate assistant in the LMU Information Services Department. He also served at WATE-TV in Knoxville as a production assistant/weekend audio operator. As a student at LMU, he served in various positions at W18AN-TV, including a year as the student station manager. Bill graduated from LMU in the spring of 1994 with a B.A. in communication arts. He is a native of Knoxville, TN and currently resides in Harrogate.
