OFFICE OF SPORTS INFORMATION Sports Release March 5, 2006 Railsplitters Finish 8th at Tusculum Golf Tournament GREENEVILLE, TN – Playing in their first match of the spring 2006 schedule, the Lincoln Memorial University men’s golf team finished 8th this weekend among 15 teams participating in the Tusculum College Golf Tournament held at Link Hills Country Club in Greeneville, Tennessee. (Results) The Railsplitters finished behind Tusculum College (Orange Team), who finished 1st, USC Upstate in 2nd place, Brevard College (3rd), Tusculum College (Black Team) in 4th place, Georgia Southwestern (5th), Mars Hill College (6th) and Walters State Community College in 7th place. Finishing behind the Lincoln Memorial men was Wingate University and Tri-County Community College who tied for 9th, Spartanburg Methodist Community College who finished 10th, Tusculum College (White Team) in 12th place, University of Virginia-Wise and Bluefield College tied for 13th place and Marian College of Indiana in 15th place. Pacing the Railsplitters was junior Craig Reasor (Big Stone Gap, VA) who tied for 8th place respectively. Reasor posted scores of 75 and 73 for a two-day total 148, seven strokes off the lead. Junior Aaron Hammons (Saline, MI) also finished into the top-20, tying for 13th place with scores of 79 and 71 for a final 150, while teammate Tyler Allen (O’Fallon, IL) finished tied for 53rd place with an 86 and a 73 for a total 159. Rounding out Lincoln Memorial’s play were Justin Edwards (Kingston, TN) who finished in a tie for 62nd place. Edwards shot a pair of 81’s for a total 162, while senior Brad Davis (New Tazewell, TN) recorded rounds of 78 and 85 for a final 163 to tie for 65th. Jeremy Gordon (Middlesboro, KY) finished in 69th place with an 82 and an 83 for a final 165, while Jacob Collingsworth (New Tazewell, TN) posted a 92 and an 87 for a 179 to finish in 78th place. The Railsplitters will hit the links again next Sunday through Tuesday when they host the LMU Spring Invitational to be held at Woodlake Golf Club in Tazewell, Tennessee.-LMU- For additional
