He has led the Railsplitters to three invitational titles and three of his players have won medalist honors during his tenure. Muncy uses a mix of strong local talent and international players to fill out his rosters and continues to make strides toward the top of the South Atlantic Conference. He also teaches golf for the University’s physical education department. A native of Harrogate, Tennessee, Muncy played collegiate golf at Edison College and was team captain for two seasons. After college, he worked at various golf clubs and played on professional golf’s mini-tours. Eventually he worked as an assistant golf professional in Florida, before returning to his home county in Tennessee to open Woodlake with his father. The father and son team recognized the need for a golf course in their backyard after years of playing in Grainger County or in Middlesboro, Kentucky. The pair received a lot of local support in their venture and had a lot of support from their neighbors in Union County, which was also without a golf course. Woodlake has been open for seven years with Muncy at the helm. As head professional, he has received many awards for his services including Head Professional of the Year and the Horton Smith Award in 2002. Muncy’s other accomplishments include an Associate of Applied Science from Walters State Community College in 1996 and a Bachelor of Business Administration from LMU in 1998.-LMU- For additional
