OFFICE OF SPORTS INFORMATION Sports Release October 3, 2007 LMU Men’s Golf Places 2nd & Women’s Golf Finishes 7th In Tusculum Fall Invitational GREENEVILLE, TN – Both the Lincoln Memorial University men’s and women’s golf teams faired well on Monday and Tuesday at the Tusculum College Fall Invitational at Link Hills Country Club in Greeneville, Tennessee. The Railsplitters finished 2nd as a team, only nine shots back of Invitational winner Tusculum College who came in with a two-day total 563. The Railsplitters turned in a final 572 and were carried by Brad Greenside (Barrie, Ontario, Canada) who completed the tournament with rounds of 72 and 67 for a score of 139 to finish in third place. LMU’s Cory Bartlett (Shanty Bay, Ontario, Canada) also finished the tournament among the top-5 qualifiers. Bartlett turned in scores of 69 and 73 for a final 142 to finish fifth, while Josh Collins (Luttrell, TN) tied for 10th place with scores of 72 and 73 for a 145. LMU sophomore Steve Cambron (Middlesboro, KY) finished closely behind with a 146 to tie for 15th place with a 71 and a 75, while Corey Talley (Newport, TN) was tied for 43rd with a 79 and a 77 for a final 156. The Railsplitters' team score of 572 topped Catawba College (3rd-582), Wingate University (4th-585), St. Andrews Presbyterian (5th-590) and Spartanburg Methodist Community College who finished last with a score of 592. The Lincoln Memorial women were led by sophomore Katy Oliver (Bournemouth, England) who finished sixteenth overall with rounds of 86 and 82 for a two-day total 168. Freshman Kristen Wolff (Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada) finished in the top-30 by coming in twenty-seventh with scores of 87 and 85 for a final 172. Senior Sarah Oswalt (Bluffton, IN) was only two strokes behind but tied for thirty-third place with a pair of 87’s for an overall score of 174. Rohni Dailkoff (Orilla, Ontario, Canada) was thirty-seventh with and 89 and a 90 for a tournament score of 179, and Terran Harrison (Greeneville, TN) was thirty-ninth with scores of 96 and 90 for a final 186. Finishing ahead of the Lincoln Memorial University women were Wingate University 1st-641), Lenoir-Rhyne College (2nd-642), Tusculum College (3rd-660), Limestone College (4th-666), Spartanburg Methodist Community College (5th-670) and Catawba College (6th-671). The Lady Railsplitters finished ahead of Mars Hill College (8th-695), and St. Andrews Presbyterian who was 9th win a team score of 727. The Lincoln Memorial men are done until the LMU Fall Invitational Tournament that will be held October 21-22 at Woodlake Golf Course in Tazewell, Tennessee, however the Lady Railsplitters will participate this weekend in the Lady Trojan Fall Invitational at Hermitage Golf Course in Nashville, Tennessee. -LMU- For additional
