Lincoln Memorial Volleyball Team Splits With St. Joseph’s And Kentucky Wesleyan

OWENSBORO, KY – The Lincoln Memorial University volleyball team moved to 10-5 Saturday afternoon splitting a dual match with St. Joseph’s College and Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, Kentucky.

The Lady Railsplitters began the afternoon with a 2:00 p.m. match against St. Joseph’s and didn’t respond well. LMU was defeated in three straight games 30-19, 30-22 and 30-21 to Saturday’s first match. The loss dropped the LMU women to 9-5 overall.

In the second match of the day, it took the Lady Railsplitters the full five games, but Lincoln Memorial bounced back, winning over the Panthers of Kentucky Wesleyan College 27-30, 30-20, 30-20, 25-30 and 15-10 to improve to 10-5 on the year.

Saturday’s matches also capped a 12 match road streak that began with Converse College in the Carson-Newman Invitational on August 31. Over the past 12 matches, the Lady Railsplitters are 6-4 as they prepare to return to their home floor in the Mary E. Mars Gymnasium on September 18. Tuesday’s match will be the Lady Splitters’ home conference opener as they will play host to Mars Hill College at 6:00 p.m.
