Riordon To Play Volleyball For LMU

HARROGATE, TN – 6’2” incoming middle hitter Katelynn Riordon (Harvard, Illinois) made the decision to play the remainder of her collegiate volleyball career for Lincoln Memorial University earlier this summer.

A product of Harvard High School, Riordon played her prep career for Kelly Milborn before signing with NCAA Division I St. Peters College out of high school.  Her decision to transfer to Lincoln Memorial was a great joy to LMU Head Coach Mike Smith.  “Katelynn will add size and experience to our middles,” says Smith.  “We will look for her to bring solid blocking and add to our offense.  She comes from a very good club team, so she has had some quality training.  We are looking forward to having Katelynn in a Lady Railsplitter uniform.”

Last season, although the Lady Railsplitter played most of the teams in the South Atlantic Conference, Lincoln Memorial wasn’t conference eligible in volleyball so the 2007 campaign is somewhat monumental for Smith and his squad.  The 2006 Lady Railsplitters finished the year with a 19-12 record, but finished 5-5 against their future league opponents.  The LMU women official kick-off the 2007 season at home August 24-25 with the LMU Invitational.
