LMU Volleyball Team Ready For SAC Tournament

HARROGATE, TN – The Lincoln Memorial University volleyball team will depart for Jefferson City, Tennessee Friday morning to compete in the 2007 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Tournament to be played in Carson-Newman College’s Holt Fieldhouse.

The Lady Railsplitters will enter this year’s tournament as the #6 seed and will take on Catawba College representing the tournament’s #3 seed.  “With the exception of Wingate University (30-1 overall 14-0 in the SAC), this could be the most evenly balanced South Atlantic Conference Tournament is several years in terms of competition,” says LMU Head Coach Mike Smith.  “Our girls are ready.  They know that anything can happen in the tournament and that if we take care of business, we can go deep into the tournament.”

The Lady Railsplitters finished the 2007 regular season with a 20-14 overall record and a 5-8 conference mark.  The LMU women will play the Catawba College Catawba Indians at 3:30 p.m. on Friday in first round action.
