Hess & McCulley Earn All-Tournament Team Honors

MONTEVALLO, AL – Lincoln Memorial University volleyball players Alison Hess (Dayton, OH) and Blythe McCulley (Springfield, IL) were recently named to the All-Tournament Team of the Coca-Cola Volleyball Classic, hosted by the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Alabama.

Hess, a 5’11” freshman middle blocker, started in four matches during the tournament and accumulated 30 kills for an average of 2.50 per game and a .185 hitting percentage.  In addition, Hess also had three service aces over the weekend as well as 16 digs, and seven total blocks.

McCulley, a 5’11” senior, also started all four matches this weekend and recorded 31 kills for an average of 2.58 per game.  Defensively the four-year letter winner finished the weekend with 48 digs for an average of 4.00 per game.

Currently the Lady Railsplitters are 17-9 on the year and will play host to arch rival Carson-Newman College tonight in the Mary E. Mars Gymnasium.  Match time is set for 6:00 p.m.
