Lady Railsplitters “Walk-Off” With 5-3 Win Over The Norse

Dahlonega, GA – Lincoln Memorial University used a one out walk-off homer off the bat of Sarah Henn to take a 5-3 win over Northern Kentucky University in game three of the Ryan’s Classic here Friday evening.

Lincoln Memorial jumped on the board first in the opening inning with a one out two-run homer to center field off the bat of Sarah Henn for a 2-0 lead. They would add to the lead in the following inning with a solo homer by Brittney Walker to make it 3-0.

Northern Kentucky never backed down and used a three-run sixth inning to tie the game 3-3. A Cara Parker double to deep left got the first two runs to the plate, and Amanda Smith singled up the middle to plate Parker and make the game all-square.

Lincoln Memorial would have the last laugh as the tied game made its way to the seventh inning. Gina lead off and reached after being hit by a pitch and Henn followed with a long ball to deep left that cleared the fence for a walk-off homer and a 5-3 win.

Walker picks up the win as she went the distance allowing four hits and three runs. Smith got the tough loss as she went six innings allowing five runs and nine hits.
