Lady Railsplitters Silence The Tornado

 

BRISTOL, TN – The Lincoln Memorial University softball team improved to 23-12-1 on Wednesday afternoon with a double-header victory over King College in Bristol, Tennessee, 13-0 and 6-1.

 

LMU pitcher Brittney Walker (10-5) (Ooltewah, TN) secured the win in the first game of the afternoon and also hit a grand slam homerun (10) to help the Lady Railsplitters roll to a 13-0 victory.  Also going out of the yard on the afternoon were Jessica Locker (2) (Tipp City, OH) and Devin Sponseller (5) (Delaware, OH).  The Lady Railsplitter’s 6-1 win in the final game of the double-header went to junior pitcher Kelly Click (11-3) (Ashland, OH).

 

This weekend the LMU softball team travels to Dahlonega, Georgia for the North Georgia College/Ryan’s Classic Fast Pitch Tournament.  LMU will play Northern Kentucky University, Florida Gulf Coast University, Augusta State University and North Georgia in an effort to capture the tournament championship.  The Lady Splitters' next home game will be April 3 against the University of the Cumberlands.
