LINCOLN MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY OFFICE OF SPORTS INFORMATION Sports Release September 16, 2007 Women’s Soccer Team Shut Out By West Georgia COLUMBUS, GA – The Lincoln Memorial University women’s soccer team lost its second consecutive match Sunday morning, losing to the University of West Georgia 1-0 on a neutral site in Columbus, Georgia. Although the Lady Railsplitters out shot UWG 15-11, all seven of their shots on goal were stopped by West Georgia goalkeeper Patricia Logsdon who went the full 90 minutes for the shutout. Lincoln Memorial junior goalkeeper Courtney Hollis (Fort Myers, Florida) recorded three saves in the match before giving way to freshman Denise de Resende (Taguatinga, Brazil) who played the final 45 minutes and had one save. The loss drops the LMU women to 2-3 on the year and 1-1 on the road. On Wednesday the Lady Railsplitters will have to step up their game if they are to play with NCAA Division II powerhouse Tusculum College who will bring a #7 national ranking and a #1 Southeast Region ranking to the Les Gibbs Field.
