OFFICE OF SPORTS INFORMATION Sports Release October 24, 2006 LMU Cross Country Already Leaving Mark On South Atlantic Conference HARROGATE, TN – Not only did the Lincoln Memorial University men’s and women’s cross country teams finish 3rd and 2nd respectively in last Saturday’s South Atlantic Conference Cross Country Championships held at Black Mountain, North Carolina, together the two teams placed six runners on the SAC All-Conference squads. Lady Railsplitter cross county runner Cherie Kern (Knoxville, Tennessee) was named to the All-South Atlantic Conference First Team, while Emily Burke (Ewing, VA) and Helena Sokolova (Kosice, Slovakia) were named to the SAC Second Team. The men’s team also put three runners on the All-SAC squad. LMU’s Ted Johnson (Neenah, Wisconsin) was named First Team All-South Atlantic Conference, while teammates Jeremy Donahue (Sevierville, Tennessee) and Mark Paulson (Neenah, Wisconsin) received Second Team honors. These six Lincoln Memorial University cross country runners are the first LMU athletes to earn All-South Atlantic Conference honors since the University joined the league on July 1, 2006. -LMU-
