CLEVELAND, TN – At times it seemed as though the Lee University women’s basketball team was on fire Monday evening when they rolled over the Lincoln Memorial University Lady Railsplitters 80-57 in non-conference play. (Box score)

Lee knocked down a blistering 55% of their three point shots by hitting 11 of 20 behind the arc. Flames guard Jessica Still led the attack by hitting 5 of 8 three pointers and scoring a game-high 23 points to help move Lee University to 19-4 overall.

For Lincoln Memorial, turnovers again played a huge role in the Lady Railsplitter demise. The LMU women committed 25 turnovers on the night while only junior guard Madeline Richards was able to get into double figures with 14 points.

Poor shooting from the field and lack of team play may half also contributed in the loss. The Lady Railsplitters shot only 31% from the field and managed only six assists as a team against the NAIA’s sixth-ranked team.

This Saturday the Lincoln Memorial women join the LMU men when return home for the second half of the Gulf South Conference schedule to play host to the University of West Alabama. Tip-off for the women’s game is set for 6:00 p.m. while the men’s game will get underway at eight o’clock.
