Winney's Double-Double Helps Put Away The Lady Pumas 82-39

RENSSELAER, IN – Lincoln Memorial University sophomore Andi Winney's (Yorktown, IN) 24 points and 12 rebounds helped lead LMU to an 82-39 win over Saint Joseph's Thursday evening. (Box score)

 

The Lady Railsplitters (6-4), playing the final game of a road swing through the Hoosier State, took a 5-4 lead with 18L25 to go in the first half and never looked back.

 

Winney, who had her sixth career double-double with her 24 points and 12 rebounds, led all scorers in the contest. Junior guard Kara Harris (Alcoa, TN) added in 11 points.  Heather Benton (Wooton, KY) scored eleven and Stephanie Wagner (Elkhart, IN) had 10 points. Shawna Nicols (Milwaukee, WI) also had 12 rebounds in addition to seven assists.

 

Michelle Kiger led SJC (1-6) with 16 points.  Teammate Molly Lauck had a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

 

The Lady Railsplitters will now have a few days off for Christmas before returning to action on Jan. 2 when they host Lees-McRae.  Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. in the Turner Arena.
