Claiborne’s DeBusk To Play For Lincoln Memorial

HARROGATE, TN – Lincoln Memorial University women’s Head Basketball Coach Larry Just announced this week the signing of another player for the 2007-08 season.  Bonnie DeBusk, a 5’10” product of nearby Claiborne High School will play next season for the Lady Railsplitters.

During her senior season with the Lady Bulldogs, DeBusk averaged 12.4 points per game and 9.2 rebounds.  “Bonnie is an exceptional student-athlete who will be a great asset to the Lady Railsplitter basketball team,” said former Claiborne Coach Dayton Parkey.

The Lady Railsplitters lost five seniors to graduation from the 2006-07 squad which finished the year with a 14-15 record.  “I am excited to have Bonnie coming to Lincoln Memorial University for the next four years,” said Head Coach Larry Just.  “I think Bonnie fits the type of people we are trying to bring into the basketball program, which are good players, good students and good people.  Bonnie has great work ethic and determination to get better each day.  She is a ball getter when it comes to rebounding and is solid when it comes to scoring.  She has played a lot inside, but we will give her the opportunity to work on her perimeter game as well.  Bonnie will be competing for playing time in the small forward position.  I look forward to her being part of the LMU basketball family.”

The Lady Railsplitters signed Brittany Craney and Megan Davis, both incoming freshmen of Pike Central High School in Petersburg, Indiana a couple of weeks ago to go along with guard Kara Harris who will transfer in next season from Walters State Community College and guard/forward Stephanie Wagner of Jimtown High School in Elkhart, Indiana.  DeBusk becomes the fifth signee that will compete for Just next season in his first year as Head Coach of the Lady Railsplitters.
