Winney Named To All-SAC Freshman Team 

HARROGATE, TN – Lincoln Memorial University women’s basketball forward Andi Winney has been named to the South Atlantic Conference All-Freshman Team by the head coaches throughout the conference.

A 6’1” product of Yorktown High School in Yorktown, Indiana, in only her first season with the Lady Railsplitters Winney is ranked as the team’s second leading scorer and top rebounder averaging 10.7 points per game and 7.4 rebounds each outing.  In addition, she has started in 24 of 28 games this season for LMU averaging 78.4% from the free throw line and 50.4% from the field.

On Wednesday evening, Winney and the Lady Railsplitters will travel to Wingate, North Carolina as the No. 8 ranked team in the South Atlantic Conference to take on No. 1 ranked Wingate University in the South Atlantic Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament Quarterfinals.  The winner will advance to the league final four to be held in Hickory, North Carolina March 3-4.
