HARROGATE, TN – The Catawba College Indians gave the Railsplitters a case of aluminum poisoning in Saturday’s South Atlantic Conference double-header sweep of Lincoln Memorial. The Indians came away with a 19-10 win in the afternoon’s first game while coming from behind to win the nightcap 14-12.
The Indians used twenty-two hits in the in the first game of the afternoon to earn the 19-10 win over the Railsplitters. The Indian’s fourteen hits in the 14-12 come-from-behind victory helped move Catawba into fourth place in the South Atlantic Conference race at 10-7.
The Railsplitters fall to 5-8 in the conference with Saturday’s losses and look to salvage a lower end split with Catawba in Sunday’s final game of the series, which is scheduled for nine innings and is set to get underway at 1:00 p.m. Should Catawba complete the sweep, it would be the first time this season the Railsplitters have been swept by a conference opponent. -LMU- For additional
