OFFICE OF SPORTS INFORMATION Sports Release March 17, 2007 Railsplitters Take Four From Bloomsburg HARROGATE, TN – The Lincoln Memorial University baseball team completed a four-game sweep of Bloomsburg University on Saturday. The Railsplitters picked up 9-8 and 5-3 wins over the Huskies on Friday and ended the series with a 6-0 shutout and a 6-1 decision on Saturday afternoon.
LMU’s Zach Gray (Columbia, TN) and Curtis Wills (Folsom, CA) got the wins in the first two games of the series while teammate Kyle Wakefield (Kalamazoo, MI) pitched the shutout in day-two. Curtis Wills got the start in the final game of the series and went the distance for his second win of the weekend.
As the Railsplitters prepare for the University’s spring break, they will host Caldwell University on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in a single nine inning game. The two teams will square off again on Wednesday at home in a double-header to finish the three-game series.
