OFFICE OF SPORTS INFORMATION Sports Release February 27, 2007 Railsplitter Baseball Team Breaks Into Top-30 HARROGATE, TN – Last week’s 6-2 performance helped the Lincoln Memorial University baseball team move into this week’s NCAA Division II Collegiate Baseball News Top-30 poll. The Railsplitters make their debut this week at the No. 30 position, tied with Emporia State, Slippery Rock, West Virginia State and California (PA) for the final spot in the ranked field. Last week the Railsplitters went 6-2 with a double-header sweep of conference opponent Tusculum College (6-5, 3-2), a loss to King College (4-5), a double-header win over Virginia Intermont College (9-2, 12-3) and a best out of three conference split with Presbyterian College (9-10, 7-2, 20-6). Now 11-4 overall and 4-1 in the South Atlantic Conference, the Railsplitters will travel to Tigerville, South Carolina on Wednesday for a double-header with North Greenville University before getting back into conference mode this weekend when they travel to Wingate, North Carolina to take on Wingate University.
