TUSCULUM IN L.M.U. VICTORY
-------------------------------

     Harrogate, Tenn. -- Tusculum won over L.M.U. here Saturday in the homecoming game, 13 to 0. The Tusculum Pioneers blocked a punt that was attempted by Captain Liebrock in close goal zone, and made a touchdown earl in the first quarter. Their kick for the extra point went wild.
     The battle in the second quarter ran about even until an L.M.U. pass was intercepted near the goal line, it was returned for a touchdown and the point-kick was good.
     Both teams battled desperately throughout the second half but neither side was able to score. The Railsplitters were able to batter through the heavy opposing line for consistent gains until they began to approach favorable scoring territory, where each time they would lose possession of the ball.
     The heavy Tusculum team functioned consistently throughout the game. The Railsplitters, considerably lighter but capable of holding their own, gained more yardage than the Pioneers, only to lose it when it was most needed. Coach Alexander was forced to use substitutes continuously to relieve his injured players. Tusculum is a strong team and [to be continued]
