L.M.U. Beaten 33 to 0 By Appalachian Team
-------------------------------

Special To The News-Sentinel

WINSTON-SALEM, NC. -- Lincoln Memorial University of Harrogate, Tenn., gained 391 yards to Appalachia State Teachers' 148 and shoved across 34 first downs to their opponents' 11 but came out on the short end of a 33-to-0 score here Saturday.
The L.M.U. Railsplitters were heavily outweighed, the Teachers averaging 191 pounds to the Railsplitters' 169. Inexperience also cost the Lincoln boys. They had numerous breaks but failed to take advantage of any of them. There were a great many errors chalked up against them also.
