--------------------------------------

Memorial University triumphed over the Eastern Kentucky Normal eleven on the
local grid today. The final score reading 13 to 7. Both teams played at a
disadvantage for the field was muddy and rain fell steadily.
Securing the ball at the kick off the normalities ran
the whole length of the field for a touchdown in the first two minutes of the
game and kicked goal that was an eye opener of the Lincoln Memorial University
boys and they retaliated by a touchdown a few minutes later but failed to kick
goal.
With the score standing seven to six the two teams
seesawed up and down the field for the second and third quarters. At the last
when it looked as if that would be the final score, Tex Turner of the Lincoln
Memorial University received a punt and ran ninety yards for a touchdown. The
game stood thirteen to seven when the final whistle blew. Turner's broken field
[run] was the feature of the game.
