New carpet in the locker room- Our clubhouse facility is outstanding and we take a tremendous amount of pride in all of our facilities. The carpet has been there since the stadium was built, and new carpet will add a touch of class to an impressive locker room. Creating an on-site players lounge- We will be transforming what used to be the visitor clubhouse into a player lounge complete with couches, recliner, pool table, TV and entertainment center. This facility will be for PLAYERS ONLY, and will give them a place to relax between classes or after a hard practice. New turf around the home plate area, and new turf for batting cages- The turfed area around home plate will be widened and expanded down the 1st and 3rd base lines. The outdoor batting cages currently do not have turf at all. We are planning to resurface both with pro athletic turf. Resurfacing the outfield and foul territory with Bermuda grass- This phase includes spraying the existing grass in order to remove it, tilling and grading the entire outfield, then sprigging Bermuda grass plugs around the entire field. Installing an irrigation system throughout field- Currently there is no irrigation system in the outfield. Our fundraising efforts will go toward buying the materials and equipment to have our maintenance group execute the installation of an irrigation system that will get water to the entire field. Adding chairback seating to the baseball stadium.- Adding chairback seating to our stadium will add a “big league” touch to Lamar Hennon Field.
