All-Americans
The LMU Sports Information Department will soon begin inputting games
from every available season since 1980 into the Automated Scorebook program and will
make the games available online as soon as the respective season is
finished. The All-Time stats are also being updated to make as complete
a record as possible during this process.
We are missing the scorebooks from the following seasons: 1982, 1983.
If you are a former coach or player from these teams and either know
the whereabouts of these scorebooks or can give us the schedule and/or
results from these seasons, please feel free to contact us by email:
bill.porter@lmunet.edu or by
phone: (423) 869-6236.
Scorebooks from before 1980 are also being sought as well.

Several LMU players pose for a photo after a win over the Vols.
Can you guess the year??
(If anyone knows the identity of any of these players please
email bill.porter@lmunet.edu.
We would like to find out who they are.)
People have asked about the 16 inning game that Scot Shields pitched against
Montevallo on March 16-17, 1996. Although not kept in the scorebook,
Shields reportedly threw around 260 pitches in the game. Here is the game:

As a special treat to all LMU fans and Alumni, here is
a bonus...
We do have the scorebooks used for the 1937 (17 games), 1938 (17 games) and
1939 seasons (16 games) as well as 1930-33. They are a little bit different from the ones used
today and, believe it or not, the 1937-39 ones are easier to read. When we have a little spare
time the Sports Information Department is putting these games into the
computer using the Automated Scorebook program, which is the stat program
currently used. This will enable us to not only have the game stats
preserved for posterity, but we can include these games in all-time records
and career totals.
