Baseball Continues To Add To Recruiting Class
Head Baseball Coach Jeff Sziksai announced today the addition of seven
more student athletes that will be joining the Railsplitter baseball
program this fall. On the addition of the newest members his recruiting
class Sziksai commented, “I am very pleased with where we are with this
group. We have targeted areas that need improvement, and have added
talented players in those areas. I am looking forward to getting
everyone on the field together this fall.”

Willis Headed To The Cubs
Organization
Friday
was a big day for former Lincoln Memorial University outfielder
TeWayne Willis (Hazard, KY). A two-year starter for the
Railsplitters, Willis was drafted by the Chicago Cubs organization on
Friday in the 28th round of the Major League Baseball draft.

Henn Makes Earning All-American Look Easy
Over the weekend, the
Lincoln Memorial University athletics department learned that another of its
student-athletes had been named to an All-American team.
Sara Henn, a sophomore softball
player from Kettering, Ohio was recently named to the 2008 Daktronics
All-American First Team by sports information directors across the country.

Just would leave the program after only one season, Lincoln Memorial
University Athletics Director Roger
Vannoy officially announced
Stephanie Smith as the
program’s new head coach at a press conference on Thursday morning.

Just Leaving Lady

Larry Just has decided to
make the trip home so to speak. On Friday morning, University athletics
officials made public the announcement that Just, a Louisville, Kentucky
native will be leaving the Lady Railsplitter program to take over the
helm of the Oldham County High School girl’s basketball position.

together the missing pieces for the 2008-09 roster. On Thursday
morning, Schertz announced Carlos
Sanford, a 6’0” point guard from Durham, North Carolina as
the latest addition to the Railsplitter basketball roster.
